STI Complete Screen (€150)

This test is for individuals aged 18 and over.

A comprehensive blood and urine test that screens for a wide range of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including bacterial, viral, and parasitic infections. This test helps with the early detection, monitoring, and management of potential STIs, supporting proactive sexual health.

Please note: The urine sample cannot be collected in-store at the time of your appointment and must be completed beforehand. You can either:

• Visit the pharmacy prior to your appointment to collect a urine sample tube, or

• Call the pharmacy and we will post a sample tube to your address.

Simply bring your completed urine sample with you on the day of your appointment. The blood sample will be taken in-store, and no swabs are required.

Markers Covered:

Urine Sample:

• Chlamydia trachomatis: Detects the bacterium responsible for chlamydia infections.

• Neisseria gonorrhoeae: Screens for gonorrhoea, a common cause of urogenital infections.

• Syphilis (Lesion/Urine): Identifies syphilis bacteria if present in lesions or urine.

• Herpes Simplex Virus I (HSV-I): Tests for oral herpes.

• Herpes Simplex Virus II (HSV-II): Tests for genital herpes.

• Trichomonas vaginalis: Detects the parasite causing trichomoniasis.

• Mycoplasma hominis: Screens for this bacterium, which may cause pelvic infections.

• Mycoplasma genitalium: Identifies infections linked to urethritis and reproductive health issues.

• Ureaplasma urealyticum: Tests for bacteria that can cause complications in the urinary and reproductive tracts.

• Chancroid: Detects the bacterium that causes genital ulcers.

Blood Sample:

• HIV 1&2/p24 Antigen: Screens for HIV types 1 and 2, and p24 antigen for early detection.

• Hepatitis B Surface Antigen: Detects current hepatitis B infections.

• Hepatitis C Antibodies: Screens for antibodies indicating hepatitis C infection.

• Syphilis Antibodies (IgG/IgM): Detects antibodies to identify past or current syphilis infections.

Important Information Before Your Appointment:

• Urine Sample: Collect your urine sample at home before your appointment using the provided sample tube. Avoid urinating for at least 1–2 hours before collecting the sample.

• Sample Collection Options:

• Pick up a sample tube in-store before your appointment, or

• Call the pharmacy and we will post a sample tube to you.

• Hydration: Drink plenty of water to assist with sample collection.

• Sexual Activity: Refrain from sexual activity for 24 hours before the test.

• Medications: Continue prescribed medications unless otherwise advised by your healthcare provider.

• Arrival: Arrive 10 minutes early for your appointment.

This test is for individuals aged 18 and over. ID may be requested if you appear under 25.
