This test is for individuals aged 18 and over.

This blood test checks the overall function of your kidneys by measuring how effectively they are filtering waste and balancing essential minerals. It includes creatinine and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) to assess kidney function, alongside calcium, chloride, magnesium, phosphate, potassium, sodium, and urea to evaluate mineral balance and waste removal. It is useful for those with high blood pressure, diabetes, or anyone who wants to monitor kidney health.

Note: Bookings can only be cancelled or rescheduled up to 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time.Changes made after this cut-off will not be accepted.

Important Information Before Your Appointment

• You do not need to fast for this test.

• You should stay well hydrated before your appointment.

• You should avoid smoking before your test.

• You should continue taking your prescribed medications, but let the phlebotomist know if you are on water tablets (diuretics) or supplements that may affect kidney or electrolyte levels.

• You should avoid strenuous exercise before your blood draw.

• You need to arrive 10 minutes early to allow time to relax before your appointment.

• You must be aged 18 or over to book this test.
